Speed Awareness Courses

Given

the relationship between speed choice and accident involvement and
the fact that speed limits are broken on a massive scale

it would appear that innovation is required. One increasingly popular method is to employ Speed Awareness Courses. These courses are designed to offer the Police, Safer Roads Partnerships and clients an educational alternative to traditional punishment. By attending a course aimed to explain the significance of speed choice the aim is to change drivers speed intentions. It has been shown that Speed Awareness Courses that employ the Driving Risk Profile succeed in changing drivers speed intentions and the perceived legitimacy of speed enforcement (see Publications).
